What makes this truck safer and more reliable your typical classic car?
Engine: This F-100 has been upgraded to a modern fuel-injection engine. Cars of this era used carburetors for their fuel management, and with them came a higher level of maintenance and unreliabaility. Carburetor performance is affected by weather, air temperature, altiutude, and a number of other factors. The more modern fuel-injected system is able to adjust to these changes in real time so it runs optimally and efficiently in all conditions.
Transmission: The truck has been upgraded to a 4-speed overdrive automatic transmission. Original transmissions were 3-speed, non-overdrive. The added overdrive gear allows for lower highway engine speeds, resulting in better gas mileage and smoother, quieter highway cruising.
Safety: The truck has been upgraded to modern 3-point over-the-shoulder seatbelts and power disc brakes. This results in a huge improvement in safety over the original lap-belt only seatbelts and stopping power over the original non-power drum style brakes.
